अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय फौजदारी अदालतको रोम विधान अनुमोदनको आवश्यकता

अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय फौजदारी अदालत नरसंहार, युद्धअपराध र मानवता विरुद्धको अपराधमा संलग्न कुनै पनि व्यक्तिलाई न्यायिक कठघरामा उभ्याउन सक्ने पहिलो स्वतन्त्र र निष्पक्ष अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय निकाय हो । जब राष्ट्रिय सरकारहरूले गम्भीर प्रकृतिका मानवता विरुद्धका अपराध गर्ने दोषीलाई कारवाही गर्न सक्दैनन् वा गर्दैनन् तब यस अदालतले उक्त काम गर्न सक्दछ ।

आर्थिक, सामाजिक तथा सांस्कृतिक अधिकार सम्बन्धी अभिसन्धिको ऐच्छिक उपलेख अनुमोदन गरियोस्

मानवअधिकारको आधिकारिक परिभाषा गर्ने दस्तावेज मानवअधिकारको विश्वव्यापी घोषणाले यसको धारा १ मा नै “सबै व्यक्ति जन्मजात स्वतन्त्र हुन्छन् र ती सबैको समान प्रतिष्ठा र अधिकार हुन्छ” (All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights) भनिएको छ । त्यसबाट यो स्पष्ट हुन्छ कि स्वतन्त्रताको सार्थकता त्यतिबेला हुन्छ जतिवेला आत्मसम्मान (प्रतिष्ठा) पूर्वक बाँच्न पाइन्छ ।
